QNAP® Systems, Inc. today released the 10GbE-ready quad-core TS-932X, a budget-friendly NAS designed to accommodate five 3.5-inch hard drives and four 2.5-inch SSDs. It is an ARM-based NAS that supports Qtier™ technology, which automatically tiers files and data based on access frequency to provide optimal storage performance. Taking up less desktop space compared with other models in the same class, the slim TS-932X is ideal for small/medium businesses and small offices. The native dual 10GbE SFP+ ports also provide users with a NAS that is future-proofed for 10GbE network environments.

“The TS-932X is a 9-bay NAS that is the physical size of a standard 4-bay/6-bay NAS and strikes a balance between storage capacity and performance,” said Dan Lin, Product Manager of QNAP, adding “Coupled with the advanced Qtier technology and 10GbE support, it provides a highly cost-efficient private cloud NAS solution.”

The TS-932X uses an AnnapurnaLabs, an Amazon company Alpine AL-324 quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A57 processor, features 2GB/8GB DDR4 RAM (upgradable to 16GB), and supports SSD caching and Qtier for optimizing storage performance and utilization. It comes with two 10GbE SFP+ ports, providing compatibility with high-speed networks to empower large-data applications, fast backup/restoration, and virtualization. The effective airflow and thermal design dissipates heat efficiently, ensuring the NAS performs smoothly even under the heaviest loads.

The intelligent QTS NAS operating system simplifies NAS management with greater flexibility and efficiency. Block-based snapshots enable comprehensive data protection and instant restoration, providing a modern way to effectively mitigate the threat of ransomware. As an all-in-one NAS solution for file storage, backup, sharing, synchronization and centralized management, the TS-932X is a productivity boost for daily tasks. Users can install various apps from the App Center to extend NAS functionalities, such as Container Station for LXC and Docker® containerized applications, Qfiling for automatic file organization, QmailAgent to centralize email account management, and QVR Pro to create a professional video surveillance system.

The TS-932X can be expanded to accommodate growing data by connecting up to two QNAP expansion enclosures (UX-800P and UX-500P). Its unused storage capacity can also be used to expand the capacity of other QNAP NAS by using VJBOD (Virtual JBOD).
